Hilltop Pub

This location has such great potential, but it's a bar for people who want to smoke cigarettes, play VLTs, listen to bad music, and be macho. A 'salad' is essentially iceberg lettuce chunked up, with pre cut carrots and maybe a slice of tomato. The Reuben sandwiches are tasty, and the staff are friendly. A south-facing patio, but it needs sun protection. There is a bike locking rack, vintage 1950, totally inadequate and not safe.

Enjoyed my visit here. Had a good night with my friends.

Cheap, tasty food. No thrills other than the local entertainment they support. Great staff. Definitely a hidden gem of Edmonton. It can be a bit cold in the winter so wear a sweater.

My perfect kind of dive pub. A great mix of clientele, live music on the weekends, fun jukebox, and the bar food is the BEST! My favorite is the mushroom bacon Swiss burger and the Hilltop special pizza. #hilltop4eva

Casual & unpretentious. Good food at reasonable prices, good inexpensive drinks. Absolutely wonderful service from all the staff, including good cooks too. Stopped here on a whim, and have been coming back ever since. 👍

I'm a little biased because I was playing there and it was an awesome crowd and I had a blast! It's a typical neighbourhood pub. Service was weak but they weren't prepared for the crowd.

It is what it is. A neighborhood dive bar, but the servers always work hard here and make sure your beer is full. Most of the food is average, although if you are eating there, the burgers are quite good. Questionable washrooms but overall, a good place to drink.

The nachos are good and the beer is cold but the server made it feel like we were an inconvenience to her.

Friendly, comfortable neighborhood bar with some very good food choices. I really enjoyed the pizza last time I visited. Most importantly, they strongly support live music and some of Edmonton's best musicians play there on a regular basis. I Highly recommend checking it out (especially when some band is appearing).

This is a cool little hole in the wall pub. Staff are great and really friendly. The beer was alright, although it tasted like they didn't totally clean their lines before hooking up a different keg. Went here to see a friend perform and for a pub the sound quality was decent. It's a small pub though so once it started getting busy it made it hard to find places to even stand.

Great little neighborhood dive bar. Hasn't been updated since 1993. Good atmosphere. Torn and worn decor. Tried the Granville winter ale.

Great live music. Bands are awesome, even the regulars were getting into it.

I've been here a couple of times and find this to be aNice Laid Back Neighborhood Pub! The Service is Great! The Food is Great!...and when they have Open Mic days and/or nights, Musicians and Singers get together for Great Jam Sessions! Good seating inside with large booths, as well as a patio outside (weather permitting).Nice groups of people here.I feel very welcome.

Very cold inside need skidoo suit. Warmer in bathroom. Beer specials are misleading happy hour is only certain ones. Service was ok need lots of upgrading.

Maybe the worst dive pub in Edmonton. The building should be condemned. Every stick of furniture is in disrepair. The bathrooms are gross. 1 star because the service is usually pretty good.

Craving cold beer, hot burger and crispy fries in a fabulous dive bar that hasn't changed since 1978? Here it is. Should be a protected Edmonton landmark imo.

Great little neighborhood pub. We came during a rush but still had great service. Relaxed atmosphere. The bathroom was a little on the chilly side.

I've been there a few times and I got to say I've never had a bad meal here! Awesome food! Great prices and amazing staff! I've only been there once while live music was playing and I got to say it was excellent! 5/5. Hidden gem just south of the river! Most definitely worth a try!

Really nice patio! Decent bar food

Service was great. We got in around 10pm. Philly cheese steak was good, and the dip was good. Lettuce for the ceasar salad wasn't fresh. Overall it was edible but far from a good salad.

This pub is in desperate need of a facelift. The carpet smells like it's a astray that was never cleaned out. The wood floor patio is falling apart. Was a little weirded out by the sex toys as prizes in the claw grabbing arcade game. Service was very quick though and can't comment on the food.

Greatest neighborhood pub of all time! I hope it is never renovated. The lifestyle Wayne Gretzky poster is a landmark!
